Originally a genetic counsellor, Elvira completed her PhD in 2010 evaluating the efficacy of telegenetics for hereditary breast and ovarian cancer. She has then developed an online learning tool 'Telehealth: Healthcare from a distance' and is currently developing a communication skills training tool for oncology health professionals working with patients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
