Orla McNally

Miss Orla McNally is a sub-specialist surgical Gynaecological Oncologist Clinical Associate Professor, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University of Melbourne. She is currently the Director of the Oncology and Dysplasia Unit at The Royal Women’s Hospital and the DirectorGynaecological Tumour Stream for the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer.
In addition to her duties at The Royal Women’s Hospital Orla provides clinical support to Peter McCallum Cancer Centre and Royal Melbourne Hospital. Originally from Ireland, Orla trained in general surgery and obstetrics and gynaecology in Ireland and the UK and first came to Melbourne during 1998 when she began her training in gynae-oncology with Professor Michael Quinn (President International Gynaecological Cancer Society). After five years as a consultant in the NHS in Somerset, England, where she established a gynaecological cancer centre, Orla returned to Melbourne in 2009.

• Gestational trophoblastic disease
Orla is passionate about multidisciplinary care and in particular providing women with the opportunity to enroll in clinical trials at any stage in their journey. She is a tumour stream expert for the Cancer Clinical Network of the Cancer Council Victoria, advisor to Ovarian Cancer Australia and to the Department of Health particularly in the development of Optimal Care Pathways in gynaecological cancer.
