She was the inaugural Professor of Cancer Nursing in South Australia and is Adjunct Professor Flinders University. Marion does not have a traditional academic background, but one that is grounded in direct health service delivery and an unwavering commitment to improving care locally and globally. As Director of The Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre, we've spearheaded collaborative, innovative research with national and international impact. With over 70 active researchers, 400+ publications, 20+ higher degree research students, and a robust mentoring program, we're committed to advancing healthcare. Our five research labs drive impactful work: The Clinical Lab revolutionised dementia care by introducing evidence-based pathways, reducing antipsychotic medication use.
The Workforce Lab pioneers a global workforce survey to monitor wellbeing, filling a crucial gap in research. Nurse and Midwife-led care models, including midwifery group practice and nurse-led skin checks, are transforming community healthcare. The first Nurse and Midwife Clinical Trials Network (ANMCTN) unifies Australia and New Zealand's research efforts, supporting workforce capacity and research translation. Moreover, my commitment and that of the Centre to mentorship and capacity-building has empowered a new generation of healthcare researchers, ensuring the sustainability and growth of impactful research initiatives. Through strategic partnerships and international collaborations, we've amplified our reach and influence, driving positive change on a global scale.
