Associate Professor Penny Schofield is the Scientific Director of Cancer Experiences Research Department, Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Melbourne, Australia. She is a behavioural scientist, supported by a National Health and Medical Research Council Career Development Fellowship. She has extensive experience in behavioural, psycho-social, quality of life and supportive care research in cancer, particularly randomised controlled trials. She is the lead investigator on an Australian national collaborative cohort study which is designed to describe the clinical heterogeneity of patients assigned the broad label of CUP, establish the frequency of genetic mutations in tumours and define quality of life issues and psychosocial needs unique to these patients.
