Dr Thomson is a Pre-eminent Staff Specialist and Director of Medical Oncology, Division of Cancer Services at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Associate Professor of Medicine at Queensland University, Brisbane. He is a member of the Queensland Hospitals Medication Advisory Committee, the Oncology Education Committee of the Cancer Council Australia and the Editor in Oncology for the Internal Medicine Journal. He has an extensive research interest in melanoma and germ cell tumours and more recently onco-geriatrics.
