Geoffrey Schembri

Geoff graduated from Sydney University in 1985 having also obtained a BSc (Med.) with Distinction in 1982. He is currently employed primarily at Royal North Shore hospital as a senior staff specialist. RNSH is a key site providing theranostic services to NSW and is a recognised centre of excellence in Neuro-endocrine tumours (NETs) . He has hands on experience with lutetium-based therapy for NETs and prostate cancer as well as a long involvement in iodine based therapy for thyroid cancer. It is also the site for a whole body PET facility being implemented next year in collaboration with Sydney University and with NIF funding.He was a key contributor to the Australasian Association of Nuclear Medicine Specialists (AANMS) Position Statement on the Practice of Theranostics in Australia
