Dr Annabel Pollard is Head of Clinical Psychology and Co-Director of the Psycho-Oncology Research Unit at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Annabel works as a clinician-researcher specializing in the psychological care, psychological therapies and management of people with cancer across the treatment spectrum. Annabel also holds an honorary appointment as Clinical Senior Lecturer with the Melbourne School of Psychological Sciences at the University of Melbourne. Annabel has been working as a clinical leader, clinician and researcher in the area of psycho-oncology for over fifteen years.
In her role as co-director of the psycho-oncology research she jointly leads the psycho-oncology research unit with the Department of Psychiatry.
One of her strong interests is how patients and families experience and navigate the impacts of both cancer and health outcomes and the health care system. She has had significant involvement with consumers and cancer advocacy organizations over a number of years including The Cancer Council of Victoria, Leukaemia Foundation of Victoria, Breacan, and Breast Cancer Network Australia.
