Dr Edmond Kwan is a Medical Oncologist and translational researcher at Monash Health in Melbourne. He received his medical degree from Bond University, Queensland in 2009, before moving to Melbourne for his Internship and Basic Physician Training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. He subsequently did his Medical Oncology speciality training at multiple centres, including Monash Health, Western Health, Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Dr Kwan’s primary research interest is in genitourinary malignancies and early drug development, stemming from his time as the Clinical Research Fellow in the Early Drug Development Group at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He is currently completing his PhD at Monash University, where his research focuses on identifying mechanisms of drug resistance and response in advanced prostate cancer through the analysis of circulating DNA and RNA in the blood, supported by a postgraduate scholarship from the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).
